My parents inspired me to be an artist. Both of my parents work with ceramics, and their art skills motivated me to start creating art myself. Being an artist allows people to see what an artist is trying to express in their work. My favorite mediums are either clay or illustration. My art style is goofy and weirdly drawn characters. I developed this art style through watching people online. When deciding what to make I go off of what comes to mind. I usually go with what I think looks the most visually appealing when facing creative decisions. I do not like making mistakes, but when I do, I work around it by adding on to it. I manage my time by focusing on one piece of the artwork at a time. I am struggling with the use of space in my artworks. The biggest challenge as an artist for me is finding motivation to complete an artwork because I can quickly lose interest in it, and want to start another. I know my artwork is finished when it meets my expectations or satisfies my vision.
Two goals for me as an artist are to expand my skills in different mediums and to get better at direct observation. I’m making sure to practice to maintain my skill and grow. I would tell a beginner artist to never give up their passion and keep practicing. Visual art is something that I would not want to do professionally, only because it isn't my passion.
