All of the time I hear artists talk about the way they feel when they are creating art, it's always along the lines of, “this makes me feel…” meaning art can help others express feelings that they can't express with words. Something that inspired me to be an artist is tiktok. On tik tok there's a lot of
different art styles but when I look at the one style of just chaos it makes me feel like drawing and doing something chaotic with it. I started when I was young around seven but then eventually stopped and moved on but when I got in the 5th grade I got more into it. Visual art is not something I would do professionally. My favorite artist is my father because he has a very different way of drawing things. My father is not an artist but sometimes draws on the regular and it's very interesting to witness.
My favorite medium is color pencil because you can do a lot of things with them such as blending. Color pencils also make the work look very smooth. My art style is chaotic and wild. The way I choose to draw is to just let the pencil run free or think about something cool that I want to see or do or see a creation of. When I make creative decisions they are usually from the pencil roaming free or creating a story in my head. I feel like mistakes are the best thing that can happen because it helps you figure out what you need to fix. Meaning I can erase and retry. I know my artwork is finished when I feel good about it. Something I'm struggling with right now are the different poses and the body. The biggest challenge of being an artist is the way sometimes you have to put most of your art style aside to follow a specific one for a specific piece of artwork. Something I do to make sure I grow as an artist is to follow all of Ms Nuru’s directions and critiques.
Some advice I would give someone who just started is to never give up because you'll always see improvement in your artwork.
