Being an artist improves and is important to the world/society because I think that artists make people like myself happy. Drawing and painting for me makes me think about happy and calm things like sitting on a swing or a bench and drawing just makes me so happy. This is the reason I think this world is better with artists of all kinds and even improves from artists.
Something that has inspired me to become an artist as one of my hobbies is my mother and sister. My mom was an artist for most of her life and went to two colleges for visual and historical art. My sister is an astonishing artist who gives me hope. From my mothers background of art and my sister's passion for art they encourage me and inspire me.
I got started with art at an early age and thought art was nice. I personally love the astonishing artist Yayoi Kusuma for her love of polka dots which I am highly fascinated by. Also of course my favorite medium is acrylic because of how pretty and smooth acrylic paint is and how the brush strokes give life to the paintings.
My art style changes from the moods I feel or if I'm happy or sad but I like to stick to what people call “chibi” art style. I developed this art style by watching the show Steven Universe and finding the art style really amazing. I choose what to draw by looking deep into my head for ideas.
When faced with a creative decision I like to look around for the nearest object or person and that usually gives me ideas. Whenever i make mistakes sometimes I keep them there. I manage my time when I have a deadline by organizing my schedule and trying to not procrastinate. I know when an artwork is finished I sort of just have a feeling.
Something I'm currently struggling with as an artist is realistic people and drawing all the details on a person's portrait. This also goes as the biggest challenge as an artist just in my opinion though. And this is also one of the goals I have as an artist but my second goal is to be better at highlights on art pieces. I am continuing to grow as an artist by not holding myself back.
Advice I would give to someone just starting out as an artist would be to not give up no matter what. In my opinion i think i should not become an artist as a job because 1, the artists in this world don't get paid a lot and 2, i am afraid to say this but i love science so very much more than art and i wish to go to a science school to become a biologist or an anthropologist.
