Helloooo! My name is Top and I’m a artist in talented art at Homer Plessy Community Schools. My pronouns She/He/They, and I go by anything. Being an artist is important to the world because you can create a lifetime out of it. It is some people's jobs and how they make money. I think it is important also because without art, you would be sad. :( 

I became an artist when I was about 7. I got accepted into talented art in my old school Gretna No. 2. I got started being an artist because I loved to doodle on scratch paper. I started to get more complex in my drawings, then the Talented Art Teacher asked me to join talented art. Right now, my favorite artist is probably Bartolomeo Bimbi becauseI like his painting ‘Two Headed Lamb’. 

My favorite medium is digital art because I think you can do a lot of cool features on an ipad or phone. I know an artwork is finished because all of the canvas you're working on is filled up with color or designs, and also you don’t know what else to add. I choose what to draw and know what to draw because I like to go for more cute or light pastels. I also like to go for greens, browns, blues, and add a lot of sparkles, and highlights. I developed this art style by experimenting with different art styles. I tried Jelly Art, Chibi, and Anime. But, they didn’t really match the way I drew. So, I tried different lips, eyes, eyebrows, and noses. Then I found my artstyle. The two goals as an artist are finishing my art faster, and making lines smoother. Right now as an artist I’m  struggling to focus more. When I have to make creative decisions, I usually just try to think what colors I like, or designs, or animals, or styles. In my  opinion, the hardest challenge in being an artist is that you have to do hard projects. When I make mistakes, It just depends on what it’s  on. If it’s a painting, i’ll paint over it with the base color, then ill repaint it. To make sure I grow as an artist, I make sure to fix my mistakes, and make sure to remember the right way. When I have a deadline I try to do the bigger areas first, then the tiny ones, then shading. This technique usually helps me get finished at the deadline. What helps me stay focused is music. Music also helps me stay motivated and helps me work.   

I would actually like to be an artist as my full time job. I think it would be a fun job and I would enjoy doing it, and I would enjoy going to work everyday. 

If you just started making art I would probably tell you to start with pencil drawing, then digital, then painting.
