Being an artist is important to the world because it helps you express yourself. What inspired me to be an artist was all the possibilities that you can do with just a simple piece of lead. I first got started in pre-k 4 when I started to draw PJ masks characters. My favorite artist is my dad. Why, you ask? He draws names in graffiti for lord sake!
My favorite medium is a pencil. Stick figure drawing is my favorite art style. I developed this artstyle from when I was 4 years old. It’s also the easiest art style for me, but it’s also the funnest and fastest. I get inspiration from things I like and then search it up on the internet for ideas. When I make a mistake, I try to erase it, but when it’s a big mistake with a crayon, or pen, I start over. (It’s a tough process.) When I have a time limit, I try to focus as much as possible. I know when my artwork is finished when I think it looks like I did my best. The thing I struggle with right now as an artist is soft shading and time management. Two goals I’m trying to work on is time management and to get better at soft shading. What I’m doing to make sure to continue to grow as an artist is to work on the two goals as an artist. If I had to choose, I wouldn’t want to be an artist when I grow up. I would rather be a comedian.
Some advice I would give to someone who’s just starting to make art is to try your best, & never give up. It’s ok to draw outside the lines when you're little. P.S.: Don’t crash out 🙏!
