Hi my name is Josh and what inspired me to become an artist is the art i’ve seen my peers do. Being an artist is important to society because many people can express themselves through art. I would like to do visual art professionally as an animator. My favorite artist is an animator with the name “minnbit”. How I got started is by drawing doodles on paper.
My favorite medium is digital art. How i decide what to draw is that i think of a character either from a show or game i like or i could also think of original characters from my mind. My artstyle is characters that have animal-like traits or anthropomorphic animals. I developed this artstyle in fifth grade when I drew my friends as their favorite animal. I often get a tiny bit frustrated when I make mistakes but I deal with them by either trying to fix them or make them a part of the art piece. I stay on task and keep myself motivated by keeping my art my main focus and ignoring any other distractions that may be in the area I am in. I know my artwork is finished when it looks good in quality and there aren't many mess ups. Two goals I have as an artist is to become an animator and to be able to come up with original ideas without inspiration. The problem i’m struggling with is staying inside lines when coloring things. When I make creative ideas I just try to trust the process and trust myself. The biggest challenge of being an artist is trying to find your artstyle. How I plan to continue to grow as an artist is trying to improve the quality of my art.
Some advice I would give to someone who just started making art is to trust yourself and try to be creative.
