My name is Aubrey. Art is important to the world because it fosters creativity and lets people express emotions and preserves culture. What inspired me to become an artist is wanting to express myself and my silliness. I got started on art by joining art class in school because I wanted to try other things besides dancing. I only like to do it as a hobby so I would not like to do art professionally. My favorite artist is Ms Nuru. 

My favorite mediums are painting and using pencil. My art style is everything because I honestly don’t stick to one. I choose what to draw by looking at others’ work and getting an idea from it or just picturing something in my brain. When I am faced with making creative decisions I look at things or make things up and add onto it. How I manage my time is i dont i take as long as I need to or think I need to. I know my artwork is finished when I feel like it is or I don't see anything else that needs to be added/done. Two goals that I have as an artist are being more patient when doing things and really putting all my effort into my artwork. I am struggling with being patient and believing in myself when creating art. The biggest challenge I have as an artist is I always try to rush into things I know I can't do and get mad when I can't do it. I don't try to take time and learn to do it or I try to create things I know will make me upset. I get a little irritated when I make mistakes on my artwork. And then I remember that I can add to it or cover it up.   

An advice I would give to someone who is just starting art is to be very patient with things and don't try to rush into things you know you can't do.
